The Quyurramta ANEP Grant

The Quyurramta: All Of Us Together Project will a) provide Yup’ik language materials for use in classroom dual language, cultural and core academics instruction, plus, b) engage in three years of scientifically–based, comprehensive, high–quality professional development on best practices in the classroom to use these materials effectively, and c) enlist villages in language revitalization and acquisition.

Objectives:

  • Organize and Digitize Yup’ik language Resources to Increase Access and Use by Students,
    Parents and Teachers
  • Integrate New Yup’ik Language Resources into Core Academic Curricula
  • Train Teachers in Effective Ways to Use Yup’ik Language Materials to Boost Language Proficiency, Cultural Knowledge and Academic Success.
  • Enlist Villages in Language Revitalization and Acquisition

ASDN is providing administrative and technical support for the project, and is assisting in the creation of K-12 English and Yup’ik materials in Social Studies and Science. LKSD received this award under a sanction from the Association of Village Council Presidents.

*Check out the great work the Quyurramta ANEP grant is doing in this OurAlaskanSchools blog post: “LKSD Creates Curriculum to Revitalize Yup’ik Language and Culture.”
