Exploring the Relationship Between MTSS and Differentiation: Principles and Practices for an Invitational Classroom
In this engaging pre-conference, participants will investigate the relationship between MTSS and differentiation, including how to cultivate an invitational classroom that celebrates diversity, promotes equitable opportunities for learning, and empowers students through opportunity and excellence. In addition to formalizing what differentiation is and is not, we will also explore the importance of, and strategies to facilitate, an invitational classroom environment, a curriculum of access, and assessment to promote learning.

Tackling Attendance Challenges: A Multi-tiered Approach to Address Chronic Absenteeism and Truancy
A growing body of research indicates that regular student attendance is one of the most critical yet under addressed issues in schools today. In Alaska, we currently have the highest rate of absenteeism in the nation. This pre-conference presentes strategies to effectively address student absenteeism across all grade levels using the MTSS model of tired supports.
