Lend-A-Hand Club: Supporting International SPED Teachers

Join the Lend-A-Hand Club, a professional learning community specifically designed for educators who bring experience from abroad and are navigating the unique landscape of Alaska’s special education system. This growing community, organized by volunteer special education teachers in Alaska and led by international educator Dale Aller Ebcas, is ready to support you with resources, mentorship and advocacy. Join our online meetings for:
- Connections with fellow international SPED teachers who understand your experience
- Practical guidance on everything from IDEA compliance to IEP writing in the Alaskan context
- Cultural bridge-building between your expertise and U.S. educational frameworks
- Problem-solving support for both professional challenges and the practical realities of relocating to Alaska
- Saturdays, starting September 13, 2025 (flexible attendance)
- 1:00-2:00 PM
- Certificate of Attendance: Receive a certificate of attendance for the number of hours that you attend. Eligible for ED 556 Transformative Teaching
