How It Works
Step 1: Learn, Apply & Document
Participate in ASDN webinar series, workshops, or asynchronous video courses and earn ASDN Certificates of Attendance. Only Certificates of Attendance issued by ASDN may be applied toward ED 556.

As you participate, complete a Learning Log to document how you apply your new learning. Application hours may include putting strategies into practice in your classroom or extending your learning through suggested readings, resources, and related activities.
Step 2: Convert Your Learning to University Credit
Once you’ve accumulated the required ASDN Certificates of Attendance and application hours, register for ED 556: Transformative Teaching—Growth Through Study and Reflection.
To complete the 500-level UAA PACE course, submit your Certificates of Attendance, Learning Log, and a short reflection paper.
Important Details
- Register only after collecting enough hours on ASDN certificates of attendance to qualify for credit (15 hours for one credit, 30 hours for 2 credits, or 45 hours for three credits). Certificates may only be used once per credit.
- Get your certificate of attendance.
- Canvas Submission: You’ll upload all certificates of attendance, logs, and your reflection paper through the ASDN Canvas site after registration.

- Recent Learning Counts: Certificates must be from ASDN professional development.
- Grading: This course is PASS/NO PASS.
