This three-webinar workshop prepares teachers to use the Code.org platform and forever-free curriculum. Computer Science Fundamentals introduces students to the foundational concepts of computer science and challenges them to explore how computing and technology can impact the world. Topics include Programming, Internet, Games and Animation, Art and Design, App Design. Computer science is for all students, and Code.org offers six introductory courses, one for each elementary grade. The scaffolded and engaging lessons are great for teachers in multigrade classrooms. There are also accommodations for English language learners and students who read below grade level.
One optional UAA Pace 500-level credit is available for attending all three webinar sessions and completing follow-up assignments.
